Christopher E. Brumfiel
Mr. Brumfiel’s practice focuses on the aggressive defense of companies involved in a variety of industries including multi-family residential housing, youth sports, commercial property management, hospitality and entertainment, transportation, and construction. Recent representative actions include the defense of a national youth sports organization in chronic traumatic encephalopathy litigation, the defense of a property management company in the Berkeley balcony collapse litigation, the defense of significant bodily injury and construction defect claims arising out of large-scale public and private development projects including the City of Emeryville Redevelopment Project, the University of California – Santa Cruz, San Francisco State University, Santana Row, and the San Francisco Olympic Club, as well as the defense of Century Theatres in multiple premises liability actions, including wrongful death. Mr. Brumfiel has also successfully represented clients in class action litigation and tried cases to a defense verdict in both California and Arizona. Mr. Brumfiel has significant experience in the United States District Court and the California Courts of Appeal.
Mr. Brumfiel is a graduate of the University of California, Davis and Hastings College of the Law. Mr. Brumfiel is a member of the State Bar of California, and is admitted to practice in the State of California, the United States District Courts (Northern, Central, Eastern and Southern Districts of California), and the United States Court of Appeals (Ninth Circuit). Mr. Brumfiel has been a shareholder of Boornazian, Jensen & Garthe since 2008.
