Tamiko A. Dunham
Tamiko Dunham specializes in advising international and domestic clients on a broad range of insurance coverage matters. Ms. Dunham has substantial experience evaluating coverage obligations in first and third party claims on primary and excess levels and counseling clients on claims handling strategy. Her experience extends across a variety of coverage lines, including commercial liability, errors and omissions, professional liability, commercial property, directors and officers, energy and homeowner policies including standard and manuscript language.
Ms. Dunham also represents insurers in insurance coverage, bad faith and subrogation disputes. She has successfully litigated complex insurance issues in state and federal courts through settlement, judgment and appeal. She also monitors outside panel counsel with respect to high exposure litigation involving policyholders. As monitoring counsel, she advises on litigation strategy, reserve setting, extension of settlement authority and judgment handling, and assists clients in navigating and negotiating litigated matters through final resolution.
Ms. Dunham’s practice additionally focuses on auditing underwriting records, responding to Department of Insurance inquiries and consumer complaints, and addressing insurance regulations and product compliance on behalf of insurer clients.
Ms. Dunham previously served as a Grader for the California Bar Exam on behalf of The State Bar of California. She worked as a Legal and Enforcement Intern with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and as a Law Clerk with the State of California, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement prior to joining Boornazian, Jensen & Garthe.
Ms. Dunham graduated with High Honors from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Rhetoric. She was awarded her Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of Law.
Ms. Dunham has been a member of the State Bar of California since 2004. She is admitted to practice in the State of California, the United States District Courts (Northern, Central, Eastern and Southern Districts of California) and the United States Court of Appeals (Ninth District).

Ms. Dunham is an active member of the Queen’s Bench Bar Association, the Claims Litigation and Management Alliance, the Alameda County Bar Association and the California Women Lawyers Association.
Ms. Dunham was recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in the area of Insurance Coverage from 2013 through 2018. She has also been named on the list of Top Women Lawyers in Northern California by Super Lawyers / San Francisco Magazine.
